Small Life Within was started in the Summer of 2006 as a temporary improvised project for one show by Zach Leeson. He then contacted people he had hand-picked for the project, which led to the current lineup.
The first practice started out as a bizarre electro-funk session, as they tend to do with the people in the band, but quickly changed into a very calm ambient atmosphere.
Small Life Within played their first show at Jesse Hardy's birthday show, at friend Tim Darby's house. The show was essentially terrible, and people were leaving.
However, over time, the band eventually started writing more coherent things, and started to develop more routine methods in their song-writing and practicing.
Near the end of 2006, the band was playing a huge number of shows. This died down as they started recording their first album.
The album was recorded with one microphone at Logan's house, and produced and mixed by Jesse.
The Album was finished being recorded in March of 2007, and hand-printed in April. There were 50 copies originally printed. The album was officially released on May 12th with a show to accompany it.

Release Notes
If it had been released by a major label, Driving Easts debut EP would have every shot at MTV-level stardom on the level of Yellowcard or Fall Out Boy, says Stewart Mason of All Music Guide. Hailing from Fairfax, Virginia the members of Driving East bring an eclectic mix of influences and unyielding desire to their hard hitting style of punk pop.
Driving East is the newest signing to powerhouse indie label The Militia Group, which has launched the careers of bands such as Cartel, Copeland, and Acceptance. They bring with them a DIY play anywhere for anyone attitude and a work ethic to match. We will truthfully play anywhere and everywhere. Literally, one night we were opening for Midtown and the next we were playing in front of 15 kids at a Chuck E. Cheese in the middle of nowhere. But every show and every crowd means just as much as the last. Whether its 15 or 1500 kids we love to play together and hopefully that comes across to the crowd, drummer Jon Jester explains. Their hard work and attitude have started to pay off. In the year since their inception the boys have performed with national headliners such as Maroon 5, Sugarcult, Midtown, Fall Out Boy, The Early November, The Starting Line, Acceptance, Motion City Soundtrack, and many more earning fans and respect along the way.
After numerous line-up changes the band has grown into the unstoppable unit that steps on stage today. Jon Jester, the original drummer, moved to California to work with his friends in the South African band Just Jinger shortly after they signed with Capitol Records. The lure of playing drums and chasing his dream eventually brought him back to the east coast and back to Driving East. Along with him came Aaron Hubbard, with a masters degree in music and upright bass in hand (You dont see that in many punk bands, do you?). The union of Jester, Hubbard, guitarist/vocalist Nate Taylor, guitarist Justin Horenstein, and lead vocalist Barrett Mullins make up Driving East today.
The bands debut EP A Black Eye Or A Broken Heart was produced by Matt Squire (Panic At The Disco, The Receiving End Of Sirens, Junior Varsity) and garnered the band the east coast leg on last summers Warped Tour. Many people try to write songs to get them on the radio but with Driving East what youre hearing is what comes naturally to them, says Squire. Driving East is back in support of their forthcoming Militia Group debut, recorded at Tree Sound Studios in Atlanta with producers Zach Odom and Kenneth Mount (Cartels Chroma).

Antioch Arrow - Gems Of Masochism
This is a band that should really need no introduction to any emofreak with truly discerning tastes but my typing fingers are itchy so they will get one anyway. Antioch Arrow were hands down the best band to emerge from the early-90s San Diego fuckcore scene. San Diego spawned far too many fantastic bands to recount during this time period - Angel Hair, Clikitat Ikatowi, and Heroin just to name a few of the most critically lauded. It must have been a truly progressive and creatively nurturing scene indeed. I was stuck on the other side of the country during this period but would slake my high art Gravity Records tastes with yummy little nuggets like this, which were often obtained by going out to some sketchy dude in a women's blouse's car after a punk show and buying records from a box in the trunk. Now you can slake your thirsts without taking the same risks I did. Night-night! Keep ya butthole tight!

Cobra Starship - Viva La Cobra
...because I know you are all good children and you are sure to go buy Cassettes On Fire merchandise after downloading their EP I am giving you a present. This is the sophomore effort by emo-dance-cheeze upstarts, Cobra Starship. This is the diametric opposite to Cassettes On Fire's aesthetic. Cobra Starship are glory-sucking spacehogs shamelessly boogie-ing their way to a Hot Topic near you but I have to admit that this is one of the best times the mainstreamo scene will ever have. The album is immaculately produced and loaded with infectious electro/emo crossover gems. I mean, it really is amazing... and fun... but I don't feel the least bit bad uploading it for you all. By all means, STEAL THIS RECORD... because you wouldn't really wanna be caught buying it, would you?

Cassettes On Fire - ...Might Sink Ships
OK, here's a slab of Florida goodness for y'all. Cassettes On Fire are a very punk, very DIY, new school skramz band with an intensely old school skramz sound. Think Still Life, Ordination of Aaron, and early Policy of Three on this one. It's hard to believe these kids are so young because honestly it sounds like a relic from an Ebullition Records compilation that time forgot... and that is extremely high praise indeed. Now for seriously, if you dig this PLEASE support the band and buy their records because they are not on some big money record label and they won't be headlining the Warped Tour any time soon so keep it real. For the kids. Do it for the kids.

Tracklist:

2. Sidewalks Remanence

5. You Tell Me
Yesterdays Rising.. early EP. Most with taste would argue that this (and the following EP), are much much better than the newer stuff. So if you were put off by the newer stuff, you may still consider trying this out. Much heavier and more inventive songwriting.

RELEASE NOTES:
From the heart of NJ, during the frigid winter of 2005, emerged this five piece metal outfit. A band whose name alone underlines a fierce, uncompromising vision.
Ever since the closure of local acts Mudbox and Judge Drain, remaining members were brought together by the means of a shared concept. While digging deep into their metal roots, they began to structure and refine their sound. It was during this bitter cold season Ashes of Your Enemy was born.
In late 2005, Ashes of Your Enemy entered the studio with producer Max Illidge (40 Below Summer, Black Market Hero) to record a four song EP. Once released, it wasnt long before their music began to generate a buzz among the music industry. They pounded the NJ/NY club scene to spread their brand of metal throughout the area, and word of their riveting, high-energy live performance began to circulate.
Now, one year later, the growth of the band has brought them to new levels. In December of 2006, Ashes of Your Enemy signed a worldwide multi-album deal with Crash Music Inc. Plans to begin recording their debut full-length is scheduled for March 2007. Ashes of Your Enemy are anxious to see what the future holds for them in the upcoming months as a new year unfolds.

Release Notes
Known for their recklessly energetic live appearances, Downstairs have developed themselves a truly fascinating sound. Compared to leading names of experimental punk and rock (At The Drive-In, Fugazi, ...Trail of Dead) the Helsinki-based four-piece combine influences from furious hardcore passion to catchy pop melodies not to forget electronic buzz.
The power of this hook-laden mixture has become obvious: Both debut EPs "Shotgun Hullabaloo" (released in 2005) and "Coward Constrictor Cries for Chivalry", released the following year, have received wide interest in the local indie scene, among pop and punk fans alike.
With over a hundred sweaty shows in and outside Finland (including supporting several international top-acts such as The Locust, Raised Fist and Blindside) Downstairs are beginning to make a name as Finland.s most interesting rising alternative band.

Gantz - La Chambre Des Morts
Sacre bleu! It's Gantz! This delightfully epic and sinfully screamo micro-masterpiece, "La Chambre Des Morts" finds Gantz in great form. Chock full o' arty guitars and jazzy time signatures, this is a fine example of why the Europeon skramz scene is just owning right now. I have no idea what they are so upset about but it brings a smile to my face anyhow so - whatev! Enjoy!

A band with a different style of talk-singing blended with great riffs, you'll fall in love with them if you care about lyrics. It may take a couple of times listening to them, but they'll probably grow on you. My favorite song is "January 1979" especially after i heard the legion of doom song that blended it with the Underoath song "It's dangerous business to step outside your front door" if you havn't heard anything from legion of doom i'll be more than happy to upload it.

NOTE: I know these guys are "Christan", and furthermore the lead singer Josh Scogin was formerally the frontman of Norma Jean (Who kind of suck), and their is a obvious Nirvana riff rip off on track 5 (at least it is obvious to me), and their is the typical "I love god, even though I am so angry" ending. Despite all of this I still think that this is one of the best hardcore albums to come out of 2007. Its raw energy and unbridled anger is a rarety these days. Put your previous conceptions of "christan hardcore" aside and check it out.
