Known for their recklessly energetic live appearances, Downstairs have developed themselves a truly fascinating sound. Compared to leading names of experimental punk and rock (At The Drive-In, Fugazi, ...Trail of Dead) the Helsinki-based four-piece combine influences from furious hardcore passion to catchy pop melodies not to forget electronic buzz.

The power of this hook-laden mixture has become obvious: Both debut EPs "Shotgun Hullabaloo" (released in 2005) and "Coward Constrictor Cries for Chivalry", released the following year, have received wide interest in the local indie scene, among pop and punk fans alike.

With over a hundred sweaty shows in and outside Finland (including supporting several international top-acts such as The Locust, Raised Fist and Blindside) Downstairs are beginning to make a name as Finland.s most interesting rising alternative band.
