Release Notes:

AGAINST are a hardcore four piece, from Brisbane, Queensland who pride themselves on their hardworking ethics and morals. Formed in late 2001, they soon played their debut show on the 26th of January 2002 to a strong and enthusiastic reception. Months later they recorded their critically acclaimed six song demo I Won't be Your Fall released in July 2002 which they have gone on to sell over 200 copies of. On the strength of this demo and their fast growing reputation for their intense live shows, come the end of 2002 AGAINST had established themselves as the leading hardcore band on the North Coast sharing the stage with the likes of Throwdown and Ensign from the USA, Numb from Japan, and well know Australian bands such as Mindsnare, Toe To Toe, Day of Contempt, Stronger Than Hate and The Nation Blue. Word spread quickly about the band even to far away regions such as Italy where they were soon contacted by Hurry Up Records to be a part of a three way split with two Italian bands called THINK.TRY which was released in May 2003.

After a lineup restructuring the band entered Sunshine studios to lay down 8 songs for their debut CD My Hate, My Choice on Common Bond Records with Brett from New Settlement Rogue on drums. Four brand new songs and four songs rerecorded off their demo coupled with two live tracks (one a cover of DSM's "Talk is Cheap") make up the listening content of the CD. Even Ben Coyte and Dan Smith from Day of Contempt couldn't resist lending their vocal assistance for some guest appearances. The CD also features an in-depth enhanced element which features an interactive band bio, film clip, live footage, studio footage as well as a rundown on the other bands who comprise the North Coast Hardcore scene which they are so proud to be a part of.

The past year 2003 has proved to be their most successful yet playing support to the Cro - Mags, AFI, Terror, and Boy Sets Fire from the USA, as well as an appearance in Kerrang magazine and Blunt magazine where their CD received a glowing 10/10 review. Further to this the band was recently featured in a 6 page profile in Tattoos Down Under magazine. Their huge live sound and energy earnt themselves a spot on this year's Hardcore 2003 lineup in Sydney as well as the Rapid Festival and the Livid Festival in Brisbane as well as a couple of appearances on Triple J.

The music is based around powerful guitar grooves combining old school hardcore style with a metal edge. The high screaming vocals combined with the music make it intensely hard and fast with many comparisons being drawn to that of Until the End crossed with Raised Fist. Following on from their appearance in Sydney on Hardcore 2003 the band headed further south to Melbourne and Adelaide, for further shows. Against have established themselves as the premier hardcore band in Brisbane often playing to crowds of 250 -300 people. With the recent addition of Vinny from Mourning Tide on second guitar and Tyronne on bass the band has added an even heavier dimension to their sound. December 2003 saw the band embarking on another successful East Coast tour this time with stops in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.

2004 sees the band reentering the studio to record some new songs for an upcoming split with Still Crossed from the USA as well as tours to far away regions such as New Zealand, central Queensland and West Australia.

Brisbane's Against finally release a full length after their first two EP's, the later being 'My Hate, My Choice' on Common Bond. This is their first release in on Trial and Error and we are proud to have them. On tour Feb 2006.
